Gingerbread Smoothie

This smoothie tastes just like Christmas! Inspired by the sweetly-spiced flavours of a holiday favourite – gingerbread.
This would be a wonderful, nourishing smoothie to start your morning on Christmas Day, though it is so delicious I would quite happily enjoy it at any time of year.

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe banana or 2 small bananas
  • 374 ml plant-based milk of choice
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 tsp almond butter
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence or 1 pinch vanilla bean powder
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 T maple syrup
  • 1 T chia or hemp seeds

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend until very smooth, about 1-2 minutes. Serve immediately.
